Technology provides new learning environments in which 21st-century skills such as collaboration are involved, and English becomes the language of communication interaction among participants. During lockdown caused by COVID-19 pandemic, students faced shift from face-to-face to online classes, made feel demotivated lost opportunities use meaningful environments. This article reports a qualitative research process explore students’ perceptions an Online Collaborative Learning (OCL) project focused on story writing between China Colombia. Accordingly, surveys interviews were implemented gather datafrom 51 12 teachers that participated study. The divided into six groups, each group was assigned two coordinators: one contributes knowledge OCL cross-cultural since it describes strengths difficulties when interacting with others whose first is not English. Specifically, concluded speakers foreign deal withchallenges related time zone differences, proficiency, intrinsic motivation,and attitudes. It also mentioned teamwork skills, empathetic language, ability technology mediate collaborative process.
